Jabari Brisport is an American politician, activist, and former public school teacher. He is the state senator for New York's 25th State Senate district in Brooklyn, and the first openly gay person of color to be elected to the New York State Legislature.

Robert Julio Garcia is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for California's 42nd congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 28th mayor of Long Beach, California, from 2014 to 2022. He was both the city's youngest and first elected openly LGBT mayor, as well as the first Latino to hold the office. He is the second person of color to be mayor of Long Beach, after Republican Eunice Sato, a Japanese American who served from 1980 to 1982. A former member of the Long Beach City Council, he was vice mayor from 2012 to 2014.

Patricia Billie Miller is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut State Senate from the 27th district. Miller was elected in a special election following the resignation of Carlo Leone. Previously, served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 145th district. Miller is the first woman and person of color to represent Stamford in either chamber of the legislature. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Anna C. Moeller is a member of the Illinois House of Representatives who was sworn in March 31, 2014. She previously served on the Elgin City Council and as Executive Director of the McHenry County Council of Governments. She was named an Edgar Fellow in 2012, a Bowhay Legislative Leadership Fellow in 2017 and Toll Fellow in 2024. Anna Moeller graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in History and MPA in Public Administration. She represents the 43rd district which includes all or parts of Elgin, Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee and South Elgin. Since taking office, Anna Moeller has championed legislation on pay equity for women and people of color, insurance and pension reform, environmental protection, access to healthcare and legislation that advance LGBTQ equality.

Samir Singh is a Democratic politician from Michigan who serves in the Michigan Senate. He formerly served as a member of the East Lansing City Council and was one of the state's youngest city council members when he joined at age 24. Additionally, he served as mayor of the city for one term and was the first person of color to hold that position. He is a past president of the Michigan Nonprofit Association. In November 2016, Singh was selected by his House Democratic colleagues to serve as Minority Leader for the 2017-18 session. In the 2022 election, Singh was elected to the Michigan Senate, where he currently represents the 28th district. On March 2, 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election.
